Jonathan Plant’s unique Scraffito ware is the culmination of over 20 years working, living and breathing in the Potteries and the pottery industry. As a partner in Moorland Pottery, Jonathan was a key figure in developing the brand as a highly regarded producer of hand decorated kitchen gift tableware. The Scrafitto range is unique in that it is made entirely by Jonathan Plant from start to finish. While it is fair to say that while they all have their roots firmly in their depiction of The Potteries, no two designs are reproduced the same. Never being produced to a pattern or rigid formula, they are simply born as they are made; individual pieces of artware in the spirit of numerous great pottery manufacturers such as Josiah Wedgwood, William Moorcroft, Clarice Cliff, and Susie Cooper. Just as Jonathan has done, each developed a highly personalised and sought-after art pottery division to their business, created by the master potter’s own hand.
